Senior Financial Accountant - Dublin

ROLE: Senior Financial Accountant

CONTRACT: Permanent

LOCATION: Dublin

DEPARTMENT: Finance / International Accounting & Reporting

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and ambitious Accountant to join our team.  The successful candidate will be involved in the financial reporting requirements for a tightly knit international business. The role will ideally fit an accountant who has a passion for challenge, ability to influence management, and experience working in a dynamic accounting environment.

Reporting to the Accounting & Reporting Manager, the successful candidate will assist in the preparation of statutory, financial and management information in accordance with the Group’s reporting deadlines and will be responsible for:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Operations department ensuring voyages are accounted for appropriately
  • Reconciling and resolving issues between the shipping software (IMOS) and accounting software (Shipnet).
  • Month end/Quarter end close process for Dry Cargo Division
  • Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations to include intercompany reconciliations
  • Preparation of quarterly management report
  • Liaise with external auditors during interim and year end audit
  • Liaise with Group Reporting and Management on Dry Division queries
  • Ensure financial records are in compliance with IFRS
  • Prepare yearly Statutory Financial Statements for Irish entities
  • Maintain sub-ledgers schedules and post monthly journals

EXPERIENCE AND RELEVANT SKILLS :

  • Qualified Accountant / accountant with minimum 4 years experience
  • Strong excel capability
  • Experience with accounting software and operational software integration an advantage
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work on own initiative
  • Previous knowledge of financial trading products/ shipping knowledge an advantage
