Post-fixture Specialist - Dublin Office

ROLE: Post-Fixture Specialist

CONTRACT: Permanent


DEPARTMENT: Commercial Department


A major international shipping group is currently seeking a Shipping Control Unit Assistant to work in the Commercial Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to further their career in a dynamic and expanding industry. The position will be based in the group’s Dublin City Centre office.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing TC hires , Charterer costs, Owner Costs or any rebillable claims which involves dealing with customers and brokers
  • Monitoring voyage TC hires / Charterer and Owner Costs as specified in the relevant charter parties
  • Compiling detailed and timely status reports on outstanding claims-assist in recovery process
  • Evaluating, documenting and presenting claims for negotiation / settlement
  • Liaising closely with vessel operators/commercial teams worldwide to prepare Statement of Accounts for counterparts

Main Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Excel / Word
  • Experience using IMOS or similar shipping database application would be most beneficial
  • Shipping experience would be beneficial but not essential
  • Proactive approach to tasks assigned
  • Attention to detail and an ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Ability to deal with staff on all levels
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Fluent English essential -working language is English
  • Self-starter and willing to learn
  • Some international travel may be required
