Addetto alla contabilità / Junior Accountant - Rome

DESCRIPTION We are currently looking for a motivated Junior Accountant in our Accounting Department in Rome. The successful candidate will join an existing team and will report to the Accounting Manager. He/She will support the daily activities of the department by preparing general ledger entries for the Italian companies of the group in compliance with tax regulation and company policy and procedures. In particular:

  • General ledger transactions
  • Performing bank reconciliations
  • Preparation of intercompany recharge invoices and reconciliation of intercompany balances
  • Assist with the quarterly accounting closing
  • Ensuring that accounting and VAT records are maintained in accordance with accepted policies and procedures;
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Credit card expenditures control and registration
  • Infra-annual tax compliance
  • General support to the office organization (organizing and maintaining administrative and account papers, electronic files and documentation, and other related duties).
  • Bank postings

 

EXPERIENCE AND RELEVANT SKILLS

  • Accountant with a minimum 1 year of relevant experience in general accounting
  • Accounts payable and receivable experience
  • Basic knowledge of International Accounting Standards
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and as a plus: Shipnet / IMOS / Tagetik;
  • Knowledge of the Shipping sector a plus but not essential
  • Independent use of English language in a working environment in particular English technical/accounting.
  • Motivated person, flexible, proactive and strong ability to work in a team
  • Good interpersonal and effective communication skills
  • Time management
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

SALARY: Commensurate with experience
