Junior Accountant - Italy / Rome

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently looking for a motivated Junior Accountant in our Accounting Department in Rome. The successful candidate will join an existing team and will report to the Accounting Head of the Department. He/She will support the daily activities of the department by preparing general ledger entries for the Italian companies of the group in compliance with tax regulation and company policy and procedures.

In this role, reporting to your responsible, you will deliver a variety of tasks like:

  • General ledger transactions;
  • General support to the office organization (organizing and maintaining administrative and account papers, electronic files and documentation, and other related duties);
  • Bank postings;
  • Performing bank reconciliations;
  • Preparation of intercompany recharge invoices and reconciliation of intercompany balances;
  • Assist with the quarterly accounting closing;
  • Ensuring that accounting and VAT records are maintained in accordance with accepted policies and procedures;
  • Accounts payable and receivable;
  • Credit card expenditures control and registration;
  • Infra-annual tax compliance

 

EXPERIENCE AND RELEVANT SKILLS

The successful candidate has:

  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in general accounting;
  • Accounts payable and receivable experience;
  • Basic knowledge of International Accounting Standards;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and as a plus:

Microsoft Business Central / Tagetik;

  • Knowledge of the Shipping sector it will be considered a plus;
  • Independent use of English language in a working environment in particular English technical/accounting;
  • Motivated person, flexible, proactive and strong ability to work in a team;
  • Good interpersonal and effective communication skills
  • Time management;
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
